Zapier¶
This page shows how to start a Zap from OhPlayer, so each new lead or viewer event can go to a spreadsheet, CRM, chat or email tool.
OhPlayer sends events to a Webhooks by Zapier Catch Hook. You create the Zap, paste its URL into OhPlayer, and pick the events to send. The Open Zapier button on the page takes you to your Zaps.
Create a Zap with a Catch Hook¶
In Zapier, start a new Zap. Choose Webhooks by Zapier as the trigger and Catch Hook as the event. Copy the webhook URL Zapier shows. It starts with https://hooks.zapier.com/hooks/catch/. Leave the trigger waiting for a sample.
Add the hook URL in OhPlayer¶
Click Integrations in the sidebar, then click Zapier. Click the Zapier tile. In the window that opens:
- Under Destination, enter a Connection name, paste the URL into Webhook URL and click Continue. The URL must start with
https://. - Under Events, choose what to send. Lead captured is selected for you. It includes the contact details, consent and video id.
- Click Continue.
Send a sample¶
Click Save & send sample. OhPlayer sends a sample lead (or a sample event, if you did not choose Lead captured) with a test marker. It does not add a lead or a play to your analytics. When the window shows "Sample accepted", go back to Zapier, test the trigger and finish your Zap with the sample data. Then tick I checked that the sample reached my automation. and click Finish setup.
Events you can send¶
- Lead captured (recommended)
- Video started
- CTA clicked
- Video completed
Start with Lead captured only. Add the others once the Zap works, so your task count stays low. To change the events later, open the connection and click Edit.
Manage the connection¶
Click the connection to open it. The status shows Working, Sending, Needs retry, Paused or Not tested.
- Send sample lead or Send sample event sends another test.
- Edit changes the name, URL or events. Saving cancels deliveries still waiting for the old settings.
- Pause stops sending. Resume starts again.
- Retry now appears when the last delivery failed.
- Disconnect removes the connection for good and asks you to confirm. To keep it, pause instead.
OhPlayer retries a failed delivery up to five times. See Webhooks for the timing.
Limits¶
You can have up to 25 connections across Zapier and Webhooks. Existing leads are not sent when you add a connection: only new events are. On Lite, connections are paused and cannot be added.
