Keyboard shortcuts

These are the keys that work in the Studio, the Library and the player.

On a Mac, use Cmd where the table says Ctrl.

In the Studio

Studio keys do not work while you type in a text box.

Playback and timeline

Key What it does
Space Play or pause.
J Play backwards. Press again for 2× and 4×.
K Stop and go back to normal speed.
L Play forwards. Press again for 2× and 4×.
← / → Move the playhead 1 second back or forward.
Shift+← / → Move the playhead 5 seconds.
Home Go to the start of the video.

Trim

Key What it does
T Turn trim mode on or off.
I While trimming, set the In point at the playhead.
O While trimming, set the Out point at the playhead.

Tools and panels

Each key opens the panel. Press it again to close it.

On Lite, G and E open the upgrade message. The tool keys do nothing while AI edit is open.

Edit and close

Key What it does
Ctrl+Z Undo your last change to settings, captions or trim, up to 40 steps.
Ctrl+Shift+Z Redo.
Delete or Backspace Delete the selected item while its panel is open: a CTA, a playgate or a caption line. In the HTML reveal panel, turns the reveal off.
Esc Close the open panel, History or the Share window, and leave trim mode.

In the Library

Key What it does
Ctrl+A Select every video in the folder.
Esc Clear the selection.

In the player

These work for viewers when the player is selected. Click the player first.

Key What it does
Space Play or pause.
M Mute or unmute.
F Enter or leave fullscreen.
Esc Close the quality menu.

Lock pause stops Space from pausing.
